When we approach God in prayer, are we asking Him to serve us—or are we seeking to serve His will?
James 4 cuts straight to the heart: we often ask wrongly, seeking to spend blessings on our own pleasures instead of aligning with God's kingdom. The gap between our righteousness and God's holiness is a chasm we cannot cross on our own. That's why we desperately need the cross. Pride separates us from God, but humility opens the door to His grace. "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble."
Here's the beautiful truth: when we draw near to God, He runs toward us with open arms—like the father welcoming home the prodigal son. We don't deserve to stand before a holy God, but through Christ's righteousness, we're clothed in His perfection. That's not just good news for us—it's a message the whole world needs to hear.
Stop playing the comparison game. Humble yourself before the only One who truly deserves your worship, and receive the grace that changes everything.
